From Cabo to La Paz
By: admin
For Cabo visitors interested in getting out of town for a day-trip, La Paz is a great choice. La Paz is the capital city of Baja California Sur and is only a couple hour drive from Cabo. Rent a car and head up Mexico 1 and you’ll find yourself in a town very different from Cabo San Lucas.
La Paz can be characterized as a quiet and safe city great for tourism because here you’ll find world-class resorts and some of the most breathtaking beaches in all of Mexico. Life in La Paz is centered around its greatest resource, the ocean.
* Whale watching - Hop on board and sale out into the Sea of Cortez for a day (or multi-day) whale watching adventure. On your adventure, you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse at whales, sea lions, dolphin, giant whale sharks, birds and more.
* Fishing - With some of the world’s finest fishing, La Paz offers something for everyone. Marlin, sailfish, dorado, wahoo, yellowfin tuna, and more hit offshore at different times throughout the year. For the shallow-water fisherman, your guide may take his chances with catching large snapper that have come closer to shore for spawning.
* Diving/Scuba - Once called the “World’s Aquarium” by Jacques Cousteau, the Sea of Cortez offers a rich diving experience to the travelers who are willing to get wet. Expect to see marine life including dolphin, whales and hammerhead sharks in just a single dive.
The next time you need a break from the excitement of Cabo, take an adventure outside to one of the surrounding cities like La Paz. Hopefully, you’ll get a chance to see something and experience a little more culture.
